Local Filmmaker to be Featured at the Bristol Historical Society's Young Artist's Series - June 6, 2009
FavoriteMedia and BurnBrite Promotions are proud to announce that independent filmmaker, Ryan Casey will be featured at the Bristol Historical Society's Young Artist Series on June 6, 2009 (7pm). His independent film, Crushing Pennies, will be screened at this event, and possibly, his first film, The Icon of 2nd Street.
The Bristol Historical Society began their Young Artists Series in March 2009. This celebration of local artists is the start of the Society's effort to showcase local and area artists, allowing them a venue to display their work to the public and expand their recognition and talent. The Crushing Pennies screening will be held at 7pm at the Bristol Historical Society building at 98 Summer Street in Bristol, Connecticut. The screening is open to the public. There is no charge to attend the event. Crushing Pennies was an official selection of the recent, 2009 Kent Film Festival. Ryan Casey, Executive Director of FavoriteMedia and BurnBrite Promotions is a Connecticut filmmaker and promotional entrepreneur who wrote and directed Crushing Pennies. The first, The Icon of 2nd Street starred local Connecticut native, Troy Farrand with cinematography done by Jeff Hoyt of KJ Films. The Bristol Historical Society promotes interest in local history. The non-profit Society collects, preserves, and interprets significant historical resources to enhance the present community and provide a historical context for future growth. Festival submission invitation for films by teens

SHOOT Teen Film Program is now accepting short film submissions for it's 'SHOOT Shorts' program premiering at the 2009 Newport International Film Festival 'SHOOT Shorts' Film Program, Sunday June 7th, 4PM Jane Pickens Theater Newport, RI.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS JUNE 1, 2009
We are looking for films under 10 minutes in length produced & edited by teen filmmakers. The films will be screened and chosen by current and past SHOOT participants and the winning films will be part of the 'SHOOT Shorts' Program at the 2009 Newport International Film Festival alongside current and past SHOOT films.To submit your film please adhere to the following requirements:1. SENE FILM, MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2009 FEATURE FILM LINEUP

The Southeast New England (SENE) Film, Music & Arts Festival is pleased to announce its 2009 feature film lineup. In addition to eight music performances, seven exhibiting artists and five parties, SENE will offer 60 feature films and short films including some World, U.S. and New England premieres. The first annual SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival runs April 2-5, 2009 in downtown Providence.
In addition to the festival's $1,000 cash award for Best Feature Film, cash awards will also be presented to the winners of Best Short Film and Best Animated Film. An independent panel of film industry professionals and film enthusiasts from around the world will server as jurors.

About the first annual SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival

The Southeast New England (SENE) Film, Music & Arts Festival takes place April 2-5 in Providence, RI. This unique new festival will include 60 films, 8 bands/musicians, 7 artists and 5 parties over 4 days. Film, music and art venues include RISD Auditorium, Cable Car Cinema, Avon Cinema, The Spot on Thayer, Everyman Bistro, Gallery DEMI and the Artists' Exchange.
Tickets for most screenings are $8 ($5 for students, seniors and members). Tickets for the opening night film at the Avon Cinema and the "America's Lost Band"/The Remains special event at the RISD Auditorium are $10 ($5 for students, seniors and members).
