Adult Large Easter Bunny Needed

RIFC Member, Karen Webb, is producing a short holiday film “Is He Real or Not?” currently in production in Hopkinton, MA. She is looking for an Adult Large Easter Bunny costume and an Adult S/M Leprechaun costume for scenes filming on January 17th. This is for a no/ultralow budget film so we're preferably looking to borrow these vs. renting. If you can help us locate these, please contact me at webb.karen@verizon.net. Thanks in advance.

Camera Operator Needed

Webber Productions is in need of a camera operator who can work a manual focus on the fly in the field. I have built a custom camera rig which is light and captures amazing images, and we are planning to shoot catch as catch can from now until a little after the new year.

There are still acting roles we are looking to fill, and also need additional *traditional* camera operators and boom ops.
Shoots are primarily in Providence and Boston.
For inspiration, here is the trailer from our previous project:

EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF 41

From Christian de Rezendes:

In the winter of 2003, a catastrophic fire erupted in a Rhode Island concert club, ultimately claiming 100 lives. Out of the ashes of the tragedy arose an equally profound story of hope.

41 tells the remarkable story of Nicky O'Neill, the youngest victim of the fire, who was a talented young actor, writer and musician who left the world at age 18. Nicky left behind a message of deep spiritual importance that has already inspired thousands.

Co-directed by Christian de Rezendes and Nicky's oldest brother Christian O'Neill, 41weaves together the story of a beautiful life cut short with the saga of a community in mourning and a family finding its way out of the darkness.Nehst Studios, founded by Larry Meistrich who produced such films as Sling Blade and You Can Count On Me, is distributing 41.

The film is currently available at http://store.nehst.com/42.html.

If you are interested in booking a screening of the film, please email info@nehst.com or call 201-941-4677.

Check out the award winning trailer for 41 at www.41themovie.com.

EMOTIONAL SCREENING OF ON THE LAKE

December 4, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PASCOAG, R.I. –– More than 100 staff, patients and former patients of the state-run Zambarano Hospital yesterday attended the final test screening of ON THE LAKE: Life and Love in a Distant Place, a documentary movie about the tuberculosis epidemic in America in the 1900s and globally today.

Several of the former patients had not been back to the hospital in decades, since they were successfully treated for tuberculosis. Most of those who viewed the hour-long movie were seeing it for the first time. Production of ON THE LAKE began a year ago at Zambarano, and later took filmmakers David Bettencourt and G. Wayne Miller to Colorado, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Maryland and New York. The final cut will have images and reports from overseas.

“A year ago, we began shooting this film at this hospital and we are back here today with thanks for the great cooperation everyone has given us at Zambarano,” Miller said in introducing the film. “This has been quite the journey. We could not have made it without all of you.”

Zambarano opened as a TB sanatorium in 1905 but with modern treatments available for the disease now has a different patient population.

The first test screening of ON THE LAKE was held in October in Pittsburgh, with the second screening last month at Harvard College in Cambridge, Mass. The film will not be shown again until it premieres at 8 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the Stadium Theatre in Woonosocket, R.I. PBS broadcast will follow.

Among the patients in attendance yesterday was Frank Beazley, who has been at the hospital almost 42 years, since breaking his neck in a fall down stairs. Beazley, who turns 80 on Dec. 13, was the subject of the inspirational 12-part 2006 Providence Journal series The Growing Season, http://www.projo.com/extra/2006/beazley/

ON THE LAKE is the first production from Eagle Peak Media, a multi-media company founded in May by Bettencourt, the award-winning director of YOU MUST BE THIS TALL: The Story of Rocky Point Park, and Miller, journalist and author of seven books. Two more Eagle Peak documentaries are in pre-production.

In documenting this film Sebastian discovers the generosity of these drag queens and the important role they’ve played in raising funds and awareness for many charitable organizations, “I couldn’t think of a better way to follow their example then to give partial proceeds to such an important cause,” said Sebastian. The film includes a host of extreme characters including drag queens Sabrina Blaze (Wayne Hawkins), Kitty Litter (Stephen Hartley) BB Hays (Brian Laquerre) and La Diva Jonz (Gary Jacques). Discover one interpretation of tolerance, acceptance and the courage it takes to be okay with who you are.
