48 Days Later

The Providence 48 Hour Film Project simply refuses to die quietly.  Like a zombie crawling out of the mire, it has returned for one last burst of chaos in the form of 48 Days Later.

Many teams continued to develop/edit/fine-tune their films after the conclusion of the 48HFP.  They will be screening their "Final, I Mean It This Time, We Had More Than Enough Time So Seriously This Is The Final Cut" of their films this weekend at The Comedy Connection.

Sunday, October 21, 5pm

Admission is free and you would be supporting local filmmakers and business (there is a bar, after all).  So just go already.  In fact, for $10 you can stick around and see a Comedy Showcase which starts at 8pm.

989 Project, Internships, NOVA

 October 13, 2012
The 989 Project(s)

Anthony Ambrosino and Nicholas Delmenico of The 989 Project have updates on several works.

Almost Human, a locally shot co-production with Channel 83 Films, has a thoroughly R-Rated trailer and one sheet.  Written and directed by Joe Begos, the film was produced by Ambrosino, Delmenico, Begos and Josh Ethier,  Shot throughout Rhode Island during February 2012, the film tells the tale of Seth Hampton, who saw his friend Mark disappear in a brilliant flash of light. Two years later, a string of murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back.

Jar of Fools is a film adaptation of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed graphic novel of the same name.  Written and to be directed by Ethan Teller, the film is set to begin production in Rhode Island in winter 2012 / spring 2013.

"Over the last few months we have attached tremendous talent to the project, both cast and crew, and we cannot wait to announce the team publicly." - 989's Ambrosino & Delmenico

They also wrapped production on "Urgent" (written and directed by Carl V. Dupre), shared a teaser for their upcoming short "Bombs" and spoke at the PFF's Tax Credit Panel

If you would like to work with The 989 Project, please send a letter of interest, resume, or demo reel to  info@the989project.com.

Providence Pictures' "Forensics on Trial"

"Innocent people go to prison while criminals walk free.
But never fear! Virtual autopsies, 3D fingerprints, and avatar detectives are putting the science back in forensic science to make sure getting away with murder becomes a thing of the past."

Providence Pictures is proud to announce that its latest film,
"FORENSICS ON TRIAL", will premiere on Wednesday, October 17 at 9pm as part of PBS's Nova.  Watch the promo.

Official Call for Entries

The next RIFC Official Production will create several shorts - all set in an elevator. Scripts will be assessed based on fun, quality and feasibility of production. While scripts of all length will be considered, we prefer scripts in the 5-6 page area.

Submit a script or address questions to productions@rifcfilms.com.

Some of the more date-obsessed among you have inquired as to a deadline.  We shall accept submissions through the end of the year - but as we're mainly just saying that so you'll stop asking, this date is subject to change.

Note: this is not a glass elevator, and does not have a hatch in the roof. Other than that, you can add an elevator operator, emergency phone, and decide how many floors in the building - these can all be changed to match a script.
