Rhode Island feature film to have World Premiere at RIIFF

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island - Sleather is a comedic adventure about friends, family and fame

Three friends -- wisecracking dreamer Linus, lovable schemer JB, and practical thinker Charlie -- are on a quest. The friends are determined to do what it takes, even the absurd, for Linus to become famous.  Their determination to revolt against another dead-end job will take them on a journey of discovering what it means to be true to themselves.  Sleather was shot entirely in the Ocean State, a labor of love for both cast and crew 7 years in the making.

Sleather is for all audiences.  “Sleather has been a long time coming.  At its heart it’s an hour and a half escape from your everyday life that allows you to sit down and laugh at the mishaps of these three friends,” says Director Anthony Ambrosino. “The Rhode Island Film Collaborative (RIFC) played an integral role in getting Sleather made. A great number of our crew came from people we met at RIFC networking meetings, RIFC projects we've worked on and events such as the 48 hour and Holiday Parties. The RIFC email blasts and affiliations with the film office and other local organizations were also tremendous assets to have on our side. However, the single greatest thing that the RIFC offered was the friendships we've made and the support we've gotten from everyone when we needed it most. I believe we can truly look at Sleather as an example of how the RIFC can benefit a production and what a community can accomplish when it comes together.”  Producer Nick Delmenico adds, “I hope Sleather is a reminder for people to enjoy their life, what they’re doing with it and who they are spending it with.”

Bring your kids or bring your grandma and get ready to laugh as you try to figure out, what exactly is Sleather anyway?  Sleather is premiering at the prestigious Rhode Island International Film Festival at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, August 14, at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are available through the film festival website, film-festival.org.

Now in its 14th year, FLICKERS:  The Rhode Island International Film Festival (riff) will
