Networking Tuesday; Mary D; RIFC New Location

Networking Meeting

The August RIFC Networking Meeting will be on Tuesday, August 10th, 7pm at the Wild Colonial, 250 South Water Street, Providence, RI.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Mary DeBerry Retires

Mary DeBerry, long-time driver of the RIFC Communications Team, and author of hundreds of emails you may have received over the last several years, is retiring from her position as hub of all filmic communications.

The help and work Mary’s done over the years for the Rhode Island Film Collaborative has been tremendous, and it’s no exaggeration to say that many of our undertakings would simply not have been possible without her support and energy.

Mary is not stepping away from us entirely – you’ll still see her at meetings, events etc. And with luck, we’ll continue to benefit from some of her wisdom and advice.

So we wanted to take a moment to express our appreciation by sending a big shout out to Mary.

Naturally, we can also use help with our newsletter blasts. They’re big shoes to fill, but if coordinating, writing and editing are something you’d like to take part in for a while, shoot us an email!

New Space for the RIFC

The RI Film Collaborative is pleased to announce that we finally have a regular physical location. Our new space is located at 172 Exchange St. in Pawtucket, RI – right in the Pawtucket Armory, and right next to the Gamm Theatre.

The Armory is dedicating itself to becoming a center for the arts and arts education. It looks like a castle from the outside, and has wonderful shared spaces to explore, left over from its days both as an armory, and later as a school.

We’re on the third-floor, but there’s an elevator, clear (if labyrinthine) signage, and it’s ADA compliant.

We’ll be using the space in coming months to host groups, small screenings, meetings and classes that have, to date, been spread randomly across the state. We look forward to seeing you there some day soon!
