NEWPORT, RI (APRIL 3, 2008) - The Newport International Film Festival is pleased to announce that Young @ Heart, the smash hit documentary from this year's Sundance Film Festival, will screen as part of NIFF's 2008 Spring Fundraiser.
Following the screening, the acclaimed Young@Heart Chorus -- the subject of the film -- will give a live performance.
The screening and concert will be held on Sunday, April 27th, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Jane Pickens Theater and Event Center, 49 Touro Street, in Newport.
Tickets for the event are $50 for NIFF and, $60 for the general public and $100 for reserved seating and post-performance reception, and will go on sale online at NIFF's website www.newportfilmfestival.com
Ranging in age from 72 to 88, the Young@Heart Chorus performs an unexpected repertoire of material, ranging from James Brown to Sonic Youth, Coldplay to The Clash, and Talking Heads to Outkast.
