Springtime Approaches, And Lovecraft's In The Air!

From Carl Johnson:

"This year's celebration, entitled "Lovecraft Rising," of the R.I. master who is widely credited with defining the genre of modern horror fantasy has been scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 30, 2008, commencing at the traditional time of 3 p.m., and will be conducted on the front ground of Ladd Observatory located at 210 Doyle Avenue, the corner of Hope Street, Providence, Rhode Island.

This 1891 structure was frequented by Mister Lovecraft in his youth, and gazing upon the starry wonders from its telescope fostered young H.P.L.'s passion for exploring astronomy in its granduer and speculations. It is also one of two East Side locations where the ghost of Lovecraft reputedly has been encountered! The central feature of this presentation will be dramatic recitations of selections from H. P. Lovecraft's prose and poetry. The event will be open to free public attendance.

Christian Henry Tobler will preside over this presentation as our Master of Ceremonies. I look forward hopefully to seeing you then and there! Please contact me should you have any questions, comments or suggestions relating to said occasion."

Sincerely,
Carl L. Johnson,
Founder of and Consultant to the H. P. Lovecraft Commemorative Activities Committee, (401) 732-4870
