RIFC - Rhode Island Film Collaborative - Independent Films and Filmmakers in RI

Filmaking Through Community

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Dear 48 hour filmmakers and fans,

I'm very excited for this year & hope you are, too! Why? Because the Providence 48 Hour Film Project is right around the corner!

On July 16 - 18, you can join hundreds of filmmakers and make a movie in 48 hours! That’s right… write, shoot, edit and score a short film in 48 hours. Then see it premiered up on the big screen! Registration will begin any day now, so check the website daily.

This year, we are hosting our own casting event, the RIFC Summer Talent-Pool Party, at the Comedy Connection, 39 Warren Ave, East Providence, 1 - 6 PM; the kickoff & drop-off will be at Everyman Bistro, 311 Iron Horse Way, Providence; the films will be screened at 7 PM in Cinema World - Lincoln Mall, 622 George Washington Hwy (Rte. 116), Lincoln, alongside real first-run studio releases; & the Best of Providence will be screened August 14 at 7 PM at the RI Ctr. for Performing Arts at the Historic Park Theatre, voted Best Artful Retread in the Providence Phoenix's Best of RI 2010 Poll.

Also, if you want to help make all these events go off without a hitch,
you can pitch in, while still being on a qualified filmmaking team. Just
contact our committee's Volunteer Coordinator, Megan Ma, at yem209@jwu.edu
to be a volunteer! This should prove to be our biggest & best year yet.
I hope to see you there!

Best,

Jay Walker
