“International Stinkbomb!”, the latest movie from local filmmaker Brett Davey, will have its world premiere at 4 PM on Saturday, March 27 at the RISD Auditorium. The premiere is a benefit for the MS Society of Rhode Island. Admission is $10 and includes a live music set by bluegrass legends The Bourbon Boys.
The comedy stars Jennifer Davey as Maria Godsend, once the world’s greatest commercial jingle writer. She is going through an identity crisis after suddenly retiring from the business. Meanwhile, a pair of teenage jingle-writing prodigies are angling to ruin Godsend’s life since she was the last big thing in the business. Will their four-part plan to take down Godsend work?
“International Stinkbomb!” is the third movie by writer/director Brett Davey. Local musicians are featured prominently in the movie including Erik Narwhal, who has appeared in Davey’s other movies, and The Bourbon Boys, which performs in the movie and provides the soundtrack. An encore showing of the movie takes place at the Cable Car Cinema on Sunday, April 25 at noon.
