Kid Filmmakers Presents Pirate Movie Workshop at SENE Film Festival

NEWPORT, RI — Avast, ye Sprogs! D' ye dream o' black flags, gold coins an' treasure isles? D' ye see yerself on th' silver screen in a no-budget pirate movie? Registration is now open for Screen Stealers, a three-hour film acting workshop for children, to be held at the Pawtucket YMCA at 20 Summer Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Sunday, April 11 at 2PM.
Presented by Kid Filmmakers, Screen Stealers is a featured children's event of the Southeast New England Film, Music and Arts Festival. Workshop registrants will learn how to act and talk like a pirate from a pirate re-enactor, while producing a funny pirate movie for Kid Filmmakers' own Flying Popcorn TV channel on YouTube. Screen Stealers is open to children, ages 8-15. Registration is $10.00 per child; a group discount is available at $40.00 per 5 children. All children under 10 years must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are suggested but optional.
Now celebrating its ninth year, Kid Filmmakers is a traveling filmmaking academy for children, available year-round to schools and organizations for after school, weekend and summer programs. Faculty members are experienced film industry professionals with credits from MGM Pictures, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Dreamworks, Discovery Channel, NBC, PBS, ESPN, TNN, Turner Broadcasting, AOL/Time Warner and more.
