TV SERIES "EASTWICK" FILMS IN RHODE ISLAND

The Rhode Island Film & TV Office is pleased to announce that the new Warner Bros. Television series EASTWICK has filmed location shots and will continue to shoot additional location footage throughout Rhode Island for the upcoming season.

The first of these images will be seen on tonight's premiere episode at 10pm on ABC.

EASTWICK is loosely based on the John Updike novel and popular feature film "The Witches of Eastwick". The new series stars Rebecca Romijn, Jaime Ray Newman and Lindsay Price as the three young witches who come into their power when a mysterious man, Darryl Van Horne, played by Paul Gross, comes to town.

The series was developed for television and is executive produced by Maggie Friedman ("Once and Again"). David S. Rosenthal ("Gilmore Girls") also executive produces. The pilot was directed by David Nutter ("The X-Files"). Together, they have conjured up a devilish blend of romance, mystery and the ultimate wish-fulfillment fantasy.

Steven Feinberg, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Film & Television Office, stated, "This wonderful news is the result of hard work and a positive working relationship developed over the last few years between the State of Rhode Island and both ABC and Warner Brothers. We are grateful that the creators of this exciting series appreciate the Ocean State's natural beauty and unique architecture. We know the value of having Rhode Island showcased to a worldwide audience on a weekly basis. When our cities and towns are promoted on a highly visible, mainstream television network, it means more jobs and additional tourism dollars for many years to come."

EASTWICK premieres at 10pm on Wednesday, September 23rd for the ABC network.

The Film & TV Office is a division of The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Please visit our website at www.film.ri.gov X-Files).

Hello Debbie,

Please can you tell me exactly where in Rhode Island is Eastwick set? I'd love to visit the town square location and also the beautiful coastline in the aerial shots.

Thanks,
Simon
