The Rhode Island ACLU will host a free community screening of the highly acclaimed feature film "The Visitor" to help the public learn about the immigrant detention system and problems of racial profiling in Rhode Island, as well as to connect concerned residents with ways to get involved locally.
The film, starring Trinity Rep alumnus Richard Jenkins, will be shown on Wednesday, January 14th at 7 PM at The Cable Car Cinema, 204 South Main Street in Providence.
The screening is being co-sponsored with the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the International Institute of RI, and will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local civil liberties experts.
