DEATH BY STARVATION

On Monday, November 10th, there will be an exhibit commemorating the 75th Anniversary of The Holodomor, the great starvation, during which Stalin had 7.5 million Ukrainians starved to death in order to break Ukrainian nationalism. During my stay in Ukraine as a Fulbright Scholar, I made a film with my students and members of The Little Globe Theatre about the famine. The film will be shown at a special presentation on the 10th - see attached flyer. It will also be part of the ongoing exhibit.

Opening presentations and reception, 5 p.m., November 10, Room 4080, Knight Campus, Warwick

David Eliet, local playwright and director, will show his short film, Holodomor, a project undertaken while working with theater students in Ukraine. A reception in the art gallery, Rm 3500, will follow the presentations. For more information, please send an e-mail to knightgallery@ccri.edu. Gallery hours: Tues-Fri 11am-4pm, Sat. 10am-2pm
