Whaling City Film Project

SECTFilm will be having another Whaling City Film Project. For those familiar with the 48 hour film project, the rules are similar, only difference is your team has 4 days to complete the film.

Time: October 1, 2010 at 7pm to October 5, 2010 at 7pm
Location: Bean & Leaf
Organized By: Neff Productions & SECTFilm

Event Description:
Neff Productions, in association with SECT Film, The City of New London, and the New London Film Commission, are proud to announce the second filmmaking competition in New London.

The Waling City Film project is simple... make the best short film in four days with New London as your backdrop.

Teams will have four days to script, shoot, edit and score a short film with a running time between 4 - 7 minutes.

On Friday October 1st at 7:00pm, all teams will meet at Bean & Leaf Cafe and randomly select a genre (drama, horror, comedy, etc.) for their film.

The teams will also be notified of four other criteria that must be used in all films entered. Specifics of the four criteria will be announced that evening, but will consist of:

1) a prop
2) a character's name
3) a line of dialogue
4) a New London landmark.

A registration fee per team is $50.

$1000 worth of cash awards will be given to the winning teams.

Film team members all must be volunteers, and the only tasks allowed before the contest is the assembling of crew and actors, the securing of equipment, and the scouting/securing of locations. All creative work must take place in the four days allotted.
