CAST AND CREW CALL - HORROR FILM SHOOTING IN MAINE

From Unstoppable Artists, LLC:

We are shooting an ultra low budget horror feature film in Maine this August.

WHO WE ARE: a production company based out of New York, headed up by a 32 year old film school grad (who also has a law degree, an MBA, a Masters of Entrepreneurship, and is an Iraq war vet. He has also run numerous companies over the years, most in showbusiness, and has authored a number of published and acclaimed books.)

THE FILM: The story centers around Stephen King. No more can be said about the story at this time except that it is unique, with a concept that everyone seems to like and a fun twist ending. :) If offered a position, you will be able to read the script in its entirety to help you in making your decision whether to help us out.

THE SHOOT: We are shooting throughout all of August. If you are not free for ALL of August, please do not apply. You will be living in Maine during the entire shoot (probably 2 weeks, but potentially 3, maybe 4).

CREW CALL (casting call is below):

1. HORROR DP. We are shooting on Canon HF 100 cameras, High Def, and the DP would have to use our cameras. The director/producer is well versed in making films and cinematography, but needs someone to focus exclusively on composition and lighting. We might consider using YOUR cameras under limited circumstances.

2. HORROR MAKE UP ARTIST. We need someone to help with makeup and fx for about 6 scenes. One of the scenes involves a severed head, so you would need to know how to create a severed head (based on a real actor's face) and/or know someone who can do this for us.

3. SCRIPT SUPERVISOR AND/OR 1st AD. The director/producer is a very meticulously organized person, but needs someone to make sure all shots on the shot list are well... shot, and also ensure that everyone on set is where they are supposed to be at the right time. A very logistics heavy position.

4. ON-SET SOUND ENGINEER. Looking for someone who has experience as an audio engineer/on-set sound engineer. We will be using lavs and booms for the shoot, but probably not a mixer. Responsibilities would include: helping to prep audio for each set; wild sound at each location; lav and boom set up and use; and other sound related tasks. Ideally, this person can also assist in post during sound editing.

5. PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS. Anyone who has enthusiasm, a good work ethic, is fun to work with, and is willing to do anything that needs to be done to help the project move forward ('anything' does not mean anything sexual, or outside the scope of what a PA normally does on a set) NOTE: most PAs are probably going to be picked from local crew in Maine/New Hampshire

COMPENSATION:
a) A free summer lake trip to Maine. You would be sleeping in the lake house on a lake in Maine with the rest of the primary cast and crew. The lake house is literally 20 feet from what National Geographic calls 'one of the top five most beautiful glacier lakes in the world'. In other words, you'll be swimming, hiking, boating, etc. during downtime (and yes, there will be downtime) And yes, the producer has a ski boat right on the dock in front of the house that we'll all be having fun on.
b) 2 meals per day (very basic) during shoot
c) Transportation to Maine and back, plus lodging as mentioned above
d) Credit in the film, of course
e) Deferred compensation contract, payable upon profit (if any) from a distribution deal

IF INTERESTED (please follow these instructions):
a) reply to this email with the subject: HORROR FILM -- (put your position here that you are applying for), for example: HORROR FILM - DP, or HORROR FILM - MAKEUP ARTIST, or HORROR FILM - AUDIO, or HORROR FILM - SCRIPT SUPERVISOR, or HORROR FILM - 1ST AD, or HORROR FILM - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
b) be sure to explain why you are interested
c) be sure to explain your experience to date
d) be sure to state that you are free for all of August, and that you do not mind living in Maine for the entire shoot
d) DO NOT ATTACH ANYTHING---include any resume in the body of the email.

CASTING CALL:

NOTE: We are debating whether to make the film a SAG Ultra Low Budget project, or to shoot non-union. Odds are that even if we do shoot union, most of the roles cast are going to be non-union simply because we need to use the limited funding we have for equipment, makeup, food, etc. If you are non-union and fit the character description, you will probably be considered first, before we consider a member of SAG. SAG members: feel free to submit. If we end up going SAG, there is a slight possibility we will consider you.

We are currently seeking:

LAMONT (24 - 34, Black, Tough guy on outside, softie on the inside) -- Supporting Lead, good comic timing

LORI (20 - 30), Pretty, Size A or B cup bra, potential makeout scene with a guy, good comic timing

NICOLE (20 - 30), Pretty, C or larger bra cup size, upper body nudity in shower scene, big makeout scene with a guy, good comic timing

HILARY (20 - 30), Pretty, bra-size irrelevant (ha!), good comic timing

LEE (40 - 50), the owner of the local marina on the lake, a skeevish looking person, country bumkin, think 'deliverance', odd person for sure, eerie and unsettling, a lascivious person who likes to lick his lips

GAME WARDEN (35 - 60), local warden who patrols the lake. Professional, but again, eerie and unsettling

SHERIFF (35 - 60), professional
