Check out "EDITING for FILM by ALEC ASTEN" on Connecticut Film Space

Time: November 14, 2009 from 3pm to 5pm
Location: PWOP Studios
Organized By: Lura Hepler

Event Description:
This editing seminar will breakdown the process of assembling shots, using Final Cut Pro, to create a story. As a class, we will build two scenes using footage from a current SECTFilm production. You will learn about overcoming continuity errors, cutting to enhance an actor's performance, elliciting emotion from the pacing of your shots, and a better understanding of scene structure as a storyteller. One of the scenes will contain dialogue and the other will contain an assembly of MOS shots.

Alec Asten has had eighteen years experience as a filmmaker and editor. His film, The Curse of Micah Rood recently won Best Dramatic Film, at the TERROR FILM FEST, in Philadelphia, PA.

This seminar will only deal with images. Sound design, for the edited scenes, will be completed at the next seminar in December, with Carl Franklin as your instructor.

To reserve a seat please RSVP to LuraHepler@yahoo.com or phone 860-884-4455. (20 Seats Available)

Fee Payable at the Door:
$10.00 SECTFilm member
$15.00 non-SECTFilm member
