48 HR FILM PROJECT NEWSLETTER

How You Can Help the 48HFP Grow:

During our 2009 Tour, we visited 76 cities in 17 countries on four continents. It's amazing to see the spread of the 48HFP in the last nine years.

Next year, you can help us build an even bigger international filmmaking community! If you have connections with entrepreneurial friends in other countries, filmmaking associations, or the like, tell them about the 48 Hour Film Project and encourage them to bring the 48HFP to their cities.

Please contact us about any cities we're not in. (Here's where we went last year.)
And, if you have connections in these cities, please let us know!

Africa: Cairo, Johannesburg, Lagos
Australia: Perth
Asia: Baghdad, Bangkok, Dubai, Manila, Jakarta, Tehran, Tokyo
Europe: Copenhagen, Istanbul, Lyon, Madrid, Moscow, Oslo, Stockholm, Vienna
North America: Montreal, Mexico City, Quebec, San Juan (PR), Vancouver
South America: Lima, Santiago, Sao Paolo, Rio de Janiero

DC filmmakers helped us find both our Beijing and Israel Producer; Los Angeles filmmakers helped us find our Netherlands Producer. Where will you help us go next?

Minneapolis 48HFP Producer Publishes Screenplay

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Minneapolis Producer Ira Livingston IV helped create the recently produced science-fiction illustrated screenplay Slingshot: Jupiter Conspiracy. This screenplay, with a forward by Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin is the first step to making a feature film. Ira says, "The 48 Hour Film Project has given me a foot in the door of filmmaking, a chance to meet childhood heroes and an opportunity to work with some of the most talented independent filmmakers."
48HFP Films of the Week:
Check out the past month's films of the week! If you would like to get these weekly, sign up to receive a short email each Wednesday with this week's film.
In "Zombie Attack" (Machinima 2007), two locals hide out in a barn in the midst of a zombie attack and discuss ways to get out of town. This film was made for our inaugural Machinima 48HFP, in which filmmakers capture footage in a virtual world to create their 48HFP film. Click here to watch.
In "The Lemonade Stand" (Boston 2009),
two friends suspect that the little girl who runs the neighborhood lemonade stand is actually the devil, so they devise a cunning plan to banish her back to hell.
In "Keyed" (National Film Challenge 2008),
Stuart wakes up the morning after a rambunctious party, and prepares for his first day of a new job when he realizes that someone was very naughty while he was passed out. Click here to watch.
In "Last Words" or "Mes Maux pour le Dire" (Paris 2007), Aman wakes up one morning and knows that today is the day to complete the task he has been planning for 25 years. This film is not safe for work, as it has some tasteful nudity. In French with English subtitles. Click here to watch.
