Rhode Island PBS TO BROADCAST ON THE LAKE

Rhode Island PBS, WSBE-36, will broadcast the critically acclaimed documentary movie ON THE LAKE: Life and Love in a Distant Place, about the tuberculosis epidemic in early 1900s America and globally today, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. This is the first in a series of regional and national broadcasts.
Much of the film is set at Zambarano State Hospital in Burrillville, R.I., which opened in 1905 as a tuberculosis sanatorium. Other parts are set in Denver, Baltimore, Massachusetts, North Carolina and Saranac Lake, N.Y.
ON THE LAKE will be shown in other PBS markets nationally beginning on April 12. The film will be shown again on Rhode Island PBS at 12:30 a.m., Friday, March 27; 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 28; and 11 p.m. on Sunday, March 29.
