“THE WRITING’S ON THE WALL”

On Sunday, February 8, 2009, local writer Krista Weller Burns will present a special condensed version of her 2-day workshop, “The Writing’s On The Wall”, at Kay Studios in East Providence . For only $99.00, you can learn tips and tricks to getting your screenplay off your desk (or laptop) and into the marketplace.
‘“The Writing’s On The Wall”’ is my way of sharing how anyone can develop a story into a workable script. Then we look at what makes a script saleable and how to prepare yours for entrance into the professional marketplace,” says Burns.
On the decision to offer the program as a 1-day workshop, Burns says, “‘Inauguration’ is to mark the beginning of something new. So, in the spirit of the season -- I’ve whittled down the 2-day workshop to 1.”
As an added bonus, students can submit their work for a basic script consultation -- normally a $50.00 value -- of their first 10 pages of a feature or entire short script!

Krista Weller Burns has over ten years experience writing and media training in the corporate, political and non-profit sectors. She has studied screenwriting in Los Angeles and New York from the likes of David Freeman, Michael Hague, Hal Ackerman and Blake Snyder. Locally, she has been published in Newport Life Magazine and has worked as a creative producer/consultant with Breaking Branches Pictures (“41”, “Getting Out of Rhode Island”). As writer/director, she is currently developing the independent short, “New Beginnings”, which is slated to start filming in Rhode Island later this year.
