The New Hampshire Film and Television Office, in partnership with the 8th Annual New Hampshire Film Festival, will be presenting two panel discussions at this year's Festival, which takes place October 16-19, 2008 in Portsmouth. The New Hampshire Film and Television Office will present its panels on Friday, October 17 at the Connie Bean Center (Portsmouth Recreation Dept.), 135 Daniel St. in Portsmouth.
The first panel, "Working with the Film Office: Partnerships and Collaborations," runs from 10 a.m.-noon and will focus on how filmmakers can work with the Film and Television Office from pre-production through exhibition and take advantage of the partnerships the Film Office has with a number of state agencies and associations. Representatives from several New Hampshire state agencies, including the Department of Transportation, Fish & Game Department, Department of Safety and the Division of Parks and Recreation will participate in the panel.
The second panel, "New Hampshire's Incentives: Thinking Beyond the Rebate," will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and will examine the tax credits and other filming incentives that have created such a buzz around the nation and how the Granite State is looking "outside the box" to offer filmmakers "The New Hampshire Advantage." At the table will be State Representative Leigh Webb, Economic Development Director Michael Vlacich, Executive Producer of The Sensation of Sight Buzz McLaughlin and producer Mark Constance from a713 production.
Both panels will feature Matthew Newton, director of the Film and Television Office and will be moderated by Van McLeod, commissioner of the Department of Cultural Resources.
