9th Annual Magners Irish Film Festival

This announcement comes to us from Beanywood:

THIS WEEKEND kicks off the 9th Annual Magners Irish Film Festival, November 8th through the 11th.. The festival will feature the very best of contemporary Irish cinema with guest filmmakers, great parties and an exciting launch this year of educational programs for filmmakers and the general public. This Friday, the festival will present a symposium on short film distribution, which will be run in conjunction with Emerson College, while on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the Harvard Film Archive they will offer a series of lectures on Irish cinema.

Among the films screened at this year's festival are John Boorman's latest offering The Tiger's Tail, the Irish-language black comedy Cre na Cille, the Boston-set drama On Broadway, and the hit Irish thriller The Front Line (this year's Best Feature award winner).

Come get the party started Thursday where Aiden Quinn will be present for a Q & A after the screening of his latest film, and he will receive the 2007 Excellence Award. Of course the night will finish with a bang at the Grafton Street Pub and Grill with Magners on the house.

Visit www.irishfilmfestival.com for a full listing of events.
