( Newport / Providence / North Kingstown, RI , USA ) The 10th annual Newport International Film Festival has named “The Strange Case of Marie France" a film by Rhode Island writer and producer Vin Fraioli as “best short film.”
The film, shot in North Kingstown, RI was directed by award winning German cinematographer Till Neumann with a cast that includes local actors Laurie Lajoie, Mari Dias, Vin Fraioli, and Frank Miele.
The story concerns Robert Berger, a man obsessed with creating beauty and order in his museum-like home. When his family thwarts him at every turn, a provocative savior appears. Or does she?
Fraioli who was born in Providence , attended Classical High School and made his reputation early as a musician with a Carnegie Recital Hall debut in 1976. He studied music in Europe and served as Artist-in-Residence for the State Council on the Arts. Fraioli has worked in real estate and recently as a producer, sometimes actor and is currently working on a screenplay for a feature length film.
“The Strange Case of Marie France" has also been shown at international film festivals in Palm Beach , Newport Beach and Cannes.
