Artists' Exchange and the Black Box Theatre to Premiere Original Comedy

Cranston, RI – The Artists' Exchange, home of the Black Box Theatre, proudly announces upcoming performances of "Intermittence," an original play written by Rhode Island's own Mark Carter, featuring an original score by Tom Chace, Mark Carter, Rich Morra and the Black Box Players.

Grounded by the evolving love story of protagonists Harold and Margaret, the play sashays down a road of absurdity, stopping frequently to ponder such roadside attractions as an android, a disembodied voice and a talking owl. "It's totally not meant to be taken seriously," Carter self-effacedly declares. "If it makes people forget their dentist appointment for a couple of hours, it's done its job."

"Can I insert the fact that it's awesome?" adds Carter's 11 year old daughter Emily, who acts in the play and also helped to design the playbill cover.

"It is the most serious interpretation of nonsense ever to hit the stage," exclaims Director Rich Morra.

"Intermittence" will be performed Thursdays 6/21 and 6/28, Fridays 6/22 and 6/29 and Saturdays 6/23 and 6/30. Thursday and Friday performances are at 7pm. Saturday performances are at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are $15. The show is recommended for audiences over 12 years of age. Reservations, which are strongly encouraged, can be made by calling 401.490.9475.
