The RIFC official production of "The Chair" will have its premiere screening on Saturday April 28 at 7pm

RIFC's Official projects are backed by the RIFC from pre-production to distribution.

Film Teacher Job Opening
 
Beacon Charter High School for the Arts, located in Woonsocket, RI, seeks a full-time teacher for its innovative Senior Capstone Film Course beginning in the 2012-2013 academic year.  The course, a graduation requirement for all students, is taught in the senior year.  RI Secondary Teacher Certification required.  English certification highly desired.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE IN FILM, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY!  This tenure-track position requires the ability to handle multiple deadlines and prepare students for public exhibition of their films.  For more information on Beacon, visit www.beaconart.org.  Posting to remain open until mid- to late-May.

Roving Eye International Film Festival
 
FLICKERS: Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) and Roger Williams University (RWU) are proud to present the seventh annual Roving Eye International Film Festival. The popular and acclaimed event, celebrating global cinema and artists, will take place April 22-26th, where more than 30 international films will be showcased, many United States premieres. All screenings are free to the general public. Screenings will take place on the campus of Roger Williams University at the Global Heritage Hall, 1 Old Ferry Rd, Bristol, RI.  
 
The 7th Annual Roving Eye International Film Festival will cover themes ripped from the headlines: returning veterans from the War on Terror; facing PTSD and mental stress; global human rights, international relations and issues addressing sustainability and ecology. This year's Festival will also include Latin-American, Asian and an international film showcase.

Story Street's Show Ur Shorts
 
Once Again, Story Street Productions, along with Actor Billy V. and Bobby Kenney invite all New England Filmmakers, Actors, Producer, Directors and Film lovers alike to STORY STREET'S SHOW UR SHORTS, Friday night, June 15th, under the stars, on the patio at THE REHAB, 681 Valley St, Providence, R.I. This is a great opportunity for local artists to show their short films, mingle and meet with others in our growing business. Best short film, as defined by participant voting, shall receive a Show UR Shorts - Audience Choice Award.... Then it's inside to party and dance the night away in one of the coolest new clubs in Providence.

Admission is $15. Seating is limited so advance purchase is advised. Please contact John K. Fiore to submit your short film and please spread the word. You do not want to miss this event.

Film can be any genre and may not exceed 15 minutes in length. Selections are final and based on our panel of judges.

The RIFC Actor's Collaborative is a workshop for actors and aspiring actors to explore, experiment and play. Writers are encouraged to bring material to have read by the group and directors are invited to scope out the talent. If you have never acted before, you will not find a safer or more encouraging environment to give it a shot.And if you're a writer or director looking to try something out (this happens regularly), get in touch through the link below and let us know what would be helpful!
