Notes from December 14, 2010 Networking Meeting

Mark Fogarty spoke and thanked the events committee for all their work in making the Black & White Party such a success. He mentioned that Herb Weiss fro the City of Pawtucket was honored for his excellence in helping the independent film maker in RI.

The RIFC is looking for a crew for a late January Production "Perfect Day for a Picnic". Email productions@rifcfilms.com if interested.

Our condolences were given to the family of George Aldrich, a local actor in many independent films.

Actors Group: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month meet at the RIFC office in Pawtucket.

Raja Samaroo is looking to fill 4 rolls for "Worm Free Society" (3 men and 1 woman).

David Weindel will be having an actor's workshop for "Acting in front of the camera". Date TBA. Dave Weindel will also be having a workshop in January for actors and puppets to work together. Date TBA.

Documentary group meets the 1st Thursday of each month at the RIFC office.

Writers group is to those only after work in submitted and accepted.

Dates for SENE: April 6-10, 2011

Opportunities:

Richard Griffin from Scorpio Productions is filming "Mars needs Women" in the end of Feb for 9 day of work. They need cast and crew.

The 989project needs to replenish their crew list and are looking for both union and non-union workers for their internship program.

7dayPSA will be coming to RI in the end of March. This is a timed film making competition making short (20,30 and 60 second) PSA's for local non-profit organizations. Feb 28 is the last day to enter. Go to 7daypsa.org for more info.

Eric Weindel has been hired for the next official RIFC film called "Perfect Day for a Picnic"

TSL Production is hosting 3 separate "Investor Parties" for their completed film "What a Pill". The 3rd party which is open to the public is on Friday Feb 4th at 7pm at a location TBA.
