"Complex World" Returns

20 years after its unprecedented three and one half month run there, the feature comedy Complex World (aka It's a Complex World) will return to the Cable Car Cinema in Providence on November 5th and 6th, for two shows a night. The film, which was shot at the original Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, stars Daniel von Bargen and the late Captain Lou Albano, and features performances by the comedy rock band The Young Adults, Roomful of Blues, NRBQ, and Stanley Matis, who has been called the world's most politically incorrect folksinger. Stanley will be performing a short set at the Cable Car following each screening. There will be an ongoing after-party each night at the Wild Colonial, a nearby club.

In addition the screenings, the producers are releasing a DVD containing both the theatrical version of the film and an earlier, rough cut, featuring a number of scenes not included in the final cut. The DVD will be available for purchase at the Cable Car and The Wild Colonial at a special premiere price of $15.

After its first Cable Car run Complex World, had a national theatrical release and a subsequent video release that was cut short by a law suit filed by the producers against the film's distributor. Since then the film has attracted a cult following through VHS copies available on line.
Proceeds from ticket and DVD sales will be donated to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Fund in memory of Carolyn Forest and to Advocates in Action, a self advocacy group for the developmentally disabled in memory of Charlie Thompson.

Showings of the film are 7pm and 9pm on Friday, November 5th and Saturday, November 6th at the Cable Car Cinema, 204 South Main Street, Providence, RI.

This is not an RIFC Production
