The Giovanis Bros. Awareness for BEREAVEMENT

Rhode Island born filmmakers Evangelos & George Giovanis cordially invite you for an evening of food, music, art and a rare opportunity to meet Oscar Winner Olympia Dukakis. The Giovanis Bros. are raising awareness for their upcoming feature film BEREAVEMENT, starring Olympia Dukakis, Louis Zorich, Sam Coppola, Armen Garo, Paul Moreno and others. Please help them reach our production goals. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go to establish the Giovanis Bros. scholarship for film studies at URI.

BEREAVEMENT SYNOPSIS

Fatally ill, Garvey thinks he has figured out how to die. But he gets a new outlook on life when his beloved wife Evelyn mysteriously goes missing on their anniversary. Wishing to rescue her, Garvey wills himself to live just a bit longer. In that struggle, Garvey experiences all that love, life, death and bereavement have to offer.

ENTERTAINMENT:

The Lemanis Ensemble performs traditional and contemporary Greek and Middle-Eastern music, led by Tery Lemanis on the Bouzouki and Oud. Come listen to the exotic sounds.
Flamenco show by Inma Heredia. An international presence with broad appeal, Inma Heredia brings vitality and joie de vivre to each and every one of her appearances.
The night will also feature clips from the four time award winning film RUN IT by the Giovanis Bros., and attendance automatically enters you into our raffle for prizes.
Ron Hutt will show his Greek inspired paintings which are a pastiche of the traditional colors, drawing and narrative scene style of "Red Figure Style" Greek vase painting, with a contemporary spin on content and a definite social/cultural analysis of our times.
Franco D'Alessandro, a two-time recipient of the prestigious Edward Albee artists residency, will be reading selections of poetry from his work.
